Permanent Residents

Employment Insurance: Emergency Line: 1-833-381-2725

Terms and Conditions: In the following two cases, the amounts granted are 55% of earnings up to a maximum of $573 per week. An online eligibility form must be completed every two weeks.

1) Sickness benefits: Number of insurable hours required: 600. 15 weeks of financial assistance for people who are quarantined, sick, who must care for their children due to the closure of daycare services and schools, or a sick parent. No medical certificate required.

2) Normal benefits: Have worked a minimum of 420 to 700 hours in the last 52 weeks. No waiting period for new claimants. Number of weeks potentially paid: 14 to 45 weeks.

CERB (Canada Emergency Response Benefit): Form available as of April 6, 2020

Processing in 10 working days

Amount of $2,000/month for a maximum of 4 months

Only workers who are ineligible for Employment Insurance and who are in segregation for the following reasons are eligible:

  • they have contracted the virus or are showing symptoms;
  • they have been in contact with an infected person;
  • they are returning from abroad.

The lump sum is $1,146 for a period of 14 days of isolation. That is $573 per week (paid by bank transfer). May be up to 28 days if the state of health justifies it.

To register, you must fill out the online form and have your identity validated.

The goal is to ensure that eligible claims are paid within 48 business hours.

Family Allowance : Emergency Line: 1-800-387-1192

Terms and Conditions: Eligible recipients will receive an additional $300 per child with the regular CEA payment for the month of May. If you have already applied for CEA, you do not need to reapply.

Accepted Refugee / Protected Person
